Training for a SERVPRO employee begins on day one. Each of our employees immediately gets started on a specialized training program which includes practical field training and nightly course training.  Everyone, regardless of position, must pass the SERVPRO Employee Certification Training courses. The series of courses covers all of our core competencies and prepares our technicians to handle every type of job they might face in Dallas as they work with the rest of their restoration crew and production managers.

We cover topics such as:

General SERVPRO Crew Training

This class is designed to teach our technicians what it means to be a SERVPRO technician.  As the leader of the cleanup and restoration industry, we hold high standards for our technicians.

Fire Damage Restoration

This class teaches our technicians about different types of smoke and soot.  They learn how to properly clean each type of smoke damage. Other topics include fire smoke odor removal.

Water Damage Restoration

This core class teaches everyone about every aspect of a water damage.  Our technicians learn how to apply psychometry to their work and practice how to properly perform water extraction and dry a structure with professional dehumidification equipment.

Carpet & Upholstery

Our technicians learn about different types of carpeting and how to effectively each type.  They learn how to test different fabrics in upholstery and choose the most effective type of cleaning procedure.

Moving Services and Storage of Contents

Because our office provides moving and storage services, our technicians also learn how to become professional movers.  Our technicians learn about inventory procedures and how to clean and restore all kinds of contents at our cleaning facility.  

Once our employees have earned their restoration trainings, they are ready to move on to advanced training with the IICRC.

Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification IICRC

The IICRC is a non-profit organization for the cleaning and restoration industry.  We are an IICRC Certified Firm.

The technicians that hold IICRC certifications are recognized by the restoration industry as having achieved a level of expertise where they understand and can perform the standard of care required for different kinds of restoration needs.

Our technicians quickly move into different training phases in order to get ready for IICRC training and certification.  Our office currently holds the following certifications from the IICRC:

• Applied Structural Drying Technician

This training teaches how to effectively dry water damaged structures in a timely manner.

• Carpet Cleaning Technician

This training teaches the science of carpet cleaning.  Our technicians learn about fiber identification, carpet construction, types and finishes, soiling conditions, and cleaning methods.  

• Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician

This training handles the technical procedures for successfully restoring a fire and smoke damaged environment.  

• Water Damage Restoration Technician

This training teaches technicians an overall concept of a water damage, its effects, and techniques for drying a structure.  It also covers topics like sewer backflows and mold growth.

Earning IICRC certifications is one way our team members can always give the best possible and informed care to our customers.  Our goal is to provide a positive beginning-to-end experience where our customers know and trust that meeting their needs are our first priority.

Dallas Mold Remediation Contractor License

Another level of certification is to become a licensed Mold Remediation Contractor for the state of Texas, which we are.  Our office follows Texas Mold Law strictly as we remediate mold growth and mold damage in residential and commercial properties in Dallas.  Many of our employees train to become Dallas mold remediation workers.

Other Certifications and Training

Our employees have at least one safety training per week.  We are also active members of hoarding help communities and have various OSHA certifications.  

Our most recent OSHA certification was from the National Institute of Decontamination Specialists.  Some of our employees are now Crime & Trauma Scene Bio-Recovery Technicians. They learned about:

• Bloodborne Pathogens
• Hazards Communications
• Respiratory Protection
• Lockout / Tagout Awareness
• Confined Space Ops Awareness

Esporta

Our office is also an Esporta Certified Firm.  We are one of the few offices to have an Esporta machine in house along with the training necessary to clean and restore clothing and textiles.  We are uniquely qualified to restore clothing that has been through:

• Category 2 Water Damage
• Category 3 Water Damage
• Fire smoke odor removal
• Soot removal
• Mold infestation

We have a restoration success of over 85% -- one of the highest restoration success rates in the textile restoration industry.  We have restored over 100,000 of items, and we’re just getting started.
