Fire Damaged Roof Causes Smoke and Water Damage In Dallas Home
Fire Damaged Roof Causes Smoke and Water Damage In Dallas Home
This Dallas home suffered a fire damage, which destroyed a portion of its roof. Fire fighting efforts put the fire out, but caused interior water damage. Meanwhile, the fire’s smoke created soot which found its way to every room of the home. The result was a partially collapsed roof and an entire home affected with smoke, soot, and water.
Our first step was to secure the roof by installing temporary tarping. This prevented any further precipitation to enter the home. Our crews then packed out the contents of the home, including all textiles, and took them to our facility for cleaning. It’s important to clean soot affected contents and textiles as quickly as possible, as soot can be acidic and cause permanent damage. The customer’s items remained in storage until their home was repaired.
